Charlie Might Need Further Surgeries

Then and now...... So this is NOT what we wanted to hear at Charlie's eight month post-op appointment. It is not written in stone yet, because he is still growing and it's possible that his head could actually get better as time goes on. We really hoped his last cranial reconstruction was going to put an end to all this, but we have always been aware that he could require additional procedures. Brian and I are completely satisfied with the improvement we've seen over the last year and are certain the shape of his head will only get better. Dr. Johnson also confirmed that Charlie's shunt is working properly and as long as it continues to drain fluid from his brain adequately, he won't require any surgeries to revise it. Yippee! See what prayers can do.....
